Electric motors maintenance contract takes the drama out of a crisis
When a large food manufacturer was hit by flooding caused by a ruptured pipe, they got straight on the phone to us. The call came at dawn, saying their production area was flooded and many of their large electrical motors were water-damaged.
Fast-response team
Just two hours later the Bennett fast-response team was on site. More than 20 large electrical motors that controlled conveyor belts were affected and production was down to 10%.
Acceptable level of production resumed in hours
While initial draining and clean-up took place, the motor replacement schedule was prioritised. By drawing on the onsite stock of motors, and bringing others direct from our large warehouse stock, an acceptable level of production was resumed within hours. Three days later, production was back to 100%. More than 20 large motors with controls and drives had been replaced.
Fantastic support from Bennett
“Bennett's response and support have been fantastic. Our industrial maintenance contract means we can call on them night or day. It was the early hours of the morning when the flood occurred, and the Bennett team were here very quickly.”
“Our contract provides us a permanent stock of motors on site here, so the engineering department can quickly replace units in everyday use. That reserve stock, and replacement units quickly brought in from Bennett's warehouse helped avert a crisis, and saved us lots of money.”
Production losses were minimised. What's more, we were able to avoid breaking the supply chain. That would have cost us hundreds of thousands of pounds in penalties. Our maintenance contract has paid for itself many times over.”
