A prominent Cheshire engineering company approached us to supply a inverter drive and Wattdrive gearbox combination. This was to assist their customer with automating a pallet making process.
The HSE had visited the pallet company after a member of staff was injured whilst working on their antiquated pallet making machine. They had insisted on either re designing or modifying the machine. Incorporating safety devices primarily to protect the work force.
The engineering company designed a fully automated solution using the Helical Bevel Wattdrive geared unit controlled by a CFW700 WEG inverter drive.
Utilizing the built in brake function of the CFW700 to control the mechanical brake on the Watt Drive geared unit. They were then able to control the operation perfectly. Furthermore the precise speed control enabled productivity to increase, thus increasing pallet quantities.
