E. Bennett has recently supplied a CFW700 and a WattDrive Helical Bevel geared unit, which gives pallet making a new edge!
Initially, a prominent Cheshire engineering company approached us to supply an inverter drive and WattDrive gearbox combination. This was specifically to assist their customer in automating a pallet-making process.
After a visit from the HSE, the pallet company faced pressure to improve safety standards due to an incident where a member of staff was injured while working on their antiquated pallet-making machine. Consequently, the HSE insisted on either redesigning or modifying the machine, primarily to incorporate safety devices that would protect the workforce.
In response, the engineering company designed a fully automated solution using the Helical Bevel WattDrive geared unit, which is controlled by a CFW700 WEG inverter drive. By utilizing the built-in brake function of the CFW700, they were able to effectively control the mechanical brake on the WattDrive geared unit. As a result, they achieved precise control over the operation. Furthermore, the accurate speed control enabled an increase in productivity, thereby boosting pallet quantities.
